Soulfire
By Tom Stanley

Angry words, like daggers,
Said with bitter harmony and uneasy silence.
Creating discord and fury,
With every breath nothing becomes something.
Replacing the word with action,
Action, toward unknown goals.
Feral spirits and contempt for natural law,
Thoughts drift until gone;
No longer ours,
Ideas flow into a pool of consciousness.
Cascading, pouring out of the gate,
Holding back the peace and anger inside.
Hold back the fear,
Let life guide you on the path.
Soulfire rekindled,
Peace and war.
Like Yin and Yang,
Existing to hold up the other.
Barricade of life, hold it inside,
Hold life in me.
Keep peace in my heart,
And in my soul.
In my hands I hold my fate,
Yet to be earned.
