Chapter 1

Schimmel found himself in a huge dark room after falling through an unstable part of the floor. He got up and brushed the dust off him from how long this cave went unexplored. "Ugh... maybe there really is nothing left of the treasure in this place." he moaned as he walked toward another door leading even deeper in than he already was. Now almost 5 hours into the exploration, he was starting to give up as he thought there would probably be another 5 hours ahead of him. "How did the earlier explorers do this? I knew it was the hardest cave to explore on the island, but jeez..." he whined again.

Before he made it to the door, monsters began to surround him. "More? This is getting too tiring..." he said as the skeletons came closer, he unsheathed his sword and got ready for the attack. He ran at the first one and cut it through with a slash, it took three to incapacitate it for good. He turned to another that was coming at him and he yelled, "Kogahazan!"** as he ran his sword through with an uppercut and back down into a falling slash. He finished off the last one with Majinken** before it could even reach him. He sighed and left the room through the door he had originally intended to go through before they showed up.

The next room wasn't what he expected. He entered and there was only a small empty room with a glow in the corner. Schimmel walked over to see what it was and found a small red amulet. He sighed heavily and began talking to himself again, "I'm probably lucky to even find this... better get out of here." He put the amulet on around his neck for easy carrying when it started to glow. It quickly began to shine and lit up the entire room.

When the light settled after 10 seconds or so, Schimmel saw that he wasn't in that cave anymore. He was in a strange, wide open grass field with forests surrounding him in the distance. He didn't know the place but he was glad that he didn't have to make his way out of the cave. He decided to rest for a while first, then find out where he was. He layed back in the grass and nearly fell asleep, when he heard footsteps.

He snapped awake and got up quick to see what it was. He saw a young man in a green robe with short brown disheveled hair reading a book as he strolled along, not even noticing Schimmel who was standing only a few feet away staring at him wondering what he was doing way out here. Schimmel watched him for another few seconds as he almost strolled carelessly right into him. Schimmel stepped out of the way as the man kept staring at his book and walking at the same time. Did he know where he was going? Schimmel decided to ask where they were.

"Uh... excuse me?" he said as the man kept walking, seemingly not hearing him. He walked up and poked him lightly in the shoulder. He didn't turn around, instead he reached back and grabbed Schimmel's arm, which started to burn horribly. "Ah! What are you doing you maniac!?" he yelled as he took his arm away from the man's hand and held his arm to try and lessen the pain of the burn.

The man turned around and saw Schimmel's blonde hair that was just long enough to cover his ears and his blue eyes, which were looking angry at the moment. He wore black track pants and a blue jacket which was left open to see a yellow shirt. "Eh... sorry about that. I'm not used to other people being out here, usually just monsters. What are you doing out here?"

Schimmel calmed down now that he knew it was an accident. His eyes returned to their normal, childish looking state. "I don't know myself... I'm wondering where this is, can you tell me?"

"You mean you don't know!?" the man said, obviously surprised at this news. "You have to be pretty daft not to know where this is... here I was thinking I was the daft one..."

"Hey! Would you stop calling me daft and just tell me?"

"No no no, this should be fun. Do you at least know what planet you're on?" the man laughed.

Schimmel winced at him making fun of him now but just sighed and decided to answer without much enthusiasm. If he went along with it, maybe the man would get bored and tell him. "Earth..."

The man immediately stopped laughing at what Schimmel had said. He thought about it for a second and broke out in more laughter at this. "You really don't know what planet you're on! It's called Sedda, get it into your thick head!"

Schimmel wondered if he had made a name up on the spot just for fun or not, but this was getting old. "Okay, just tell me where we are now or I'm not going to bother anymore. I'll just find my own way back to Sydney."

"...Sydney?" The man even looked confused now. "I know all the cities and villages there are to know around here, and Sydney isn't one of them. You ought to head toward Ferra if you need a town quick. It's the closest one from here, that way." the man pointed toward part of the forest. "Through the forest and on the other side. I'm going that way anyway if you want me to lead you there."

"Umm... sure, I guess." Schimmel was confused out of his mind now. He didn't hear of Sydney, a strange world called Sedda and a town called Ferra? He decided to go with the man only to find out what was going on, if he was telling the truth or if it was a huge joke.

"Well, come on then." the man said walking the same direction he was walking before, his book raised to read again.
